This position is located in the Office of Compliance, Accountability Operations Branch, at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Washington D.C. This position exercises responsibility for the final verification of all securities that have been rejected at any stage during the printing process due to printing or processing defects, or the production of securities in excess of customer agency requirements.

As a Finial Verifier (Mutilated Paper Items), you will:
-Perform such final verification processes as final count verification of test and mutilated currency sheets.
-Blind counts of individual units, packaged items, partial sheets and whole sheets of securities.
-Certification of accurate count of package contents, individual packages and units within a package.
-Checks recorded load figures, load numbers and denominations for accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
Considerable walking and standing is required of the employee in this production environment, and bending and stooping are regular requirements of the position. Some counting and verification duties require lifting packages of currency that weigh 35 to 40 pounds. Fingers, hands and arms must be used on a continuous basis to carry out the final verification duties of the position.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough. - The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for work days during the shutdown period.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
