    BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business, and labor. 

    This position is located in the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and will be filled in the Compensation Program. Selection will be made in one of the following locations: Dallas, TX or Kansas City, MO.

    The employee will work for the Division of Compensation Programs.  The Division of Compensation publishes the Employment Cost Index, Employer Costs for Employee Compensation and Incident and Provisions benefit information.  The employee will perform entry level direct data collection from enterprises.  The employee will negotiate cooperation with officials in private and public sectors, collect data and perform analysis.  The work assigned is expected to be straight forward and require application of conventional methods to resolve discrepancies.  The employee will make follow-up contact with the respondents providing data to ensure continued cooperation and timely delivery of survey results.
