    The Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP) has the authority to appoint highly qualified re-employed annuitants without a salary offset (reduction). All re-employed annuitants serve at the will of the agency head and appointments do not confer tenure.

    The Office of the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP) was established at the Department of the Treasury under the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. The mission of SIGTARP is to conduct, supervise, and coordinate audits and investigations of the purchase, management, and sale of assets by the Secretary under the TARP. SIGTARP is a temporary agency and it is anticipated that the organization will be in in existence until at least 2024. We are looking for people to join our team as we take on our responsibility to oversee this historic program and its participants.

    As a Supervisory Auditor, you will:

    • Develop overall work plans, strategies, and objectives, including priorities for the multiple audits conducted by the staff. Set objectives for individual audits in conformance with national guidelines and ensures development of quality audit plans by continually monitoring and analyzing national and local events to identify information changes, opportunities, and problems that may influence the particular assignments.
    • Provide leadership for a particular group of audits by directing and coordinating them, either directly or through the Lead Auditor, assigned to subordinates to ensure that work objectives are accomplished in compliance with procedural, administrative, and audit standard requirements with a continual emphasis on the need for quality in all areas.

    • Ensure that the results of the individual assignments are consistent with auditing standards and objectives set by higher levels of management. Reviews in-progress audits to ensure adherence to work plans and conformance with professional, regulatory, and quality requirements. Devise innovative solutions to problems. Take management action to directly, or through the Auditors-in-Charge, instruct technical employees in the proper auditing methods and procedures and oversee the work. Ensure that the skill level of assigned employees matches the requirements of the audit.

    • Review and finalize audit memoranda and reports which are timely, well written, complete, and supportive of the findings. Assume responsibility for the quality of the final report that is expected to be completed without any technical changes.

    • Conduct such functions as problem definition, intensive planning, coordination of many activities, and comprehensive analysis of a variety of functions and activities, all in accordance with Government Auditing Standards.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - 1-5 nights per month
