EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
As the Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, typical assignments include:- Leading a cross functional branch of insurance examiners, program analysts, and quantitative experts that provides analytics capability and policy development for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
- Leading the development of NFIP legislative, regulatory, and policy priorities.
- Serving as an advisor to senior leadership in the Federal Insurance Directorate.
- Leading the development of requirements for NFIP reporting and analytics systems and serve as product owner of the Pivot Analytics and Reporting Tool.
- Speaking clearly and authoritatively on behalf of FIMA and the NFIP in external meetings with federal, state, and public entities.
