As the Senior IT Specialist (Database Management) in this position, you will: Lead work to evaluate and recommend new database technology and architecture.
- Perform Database setup, design and development.
- Perform Database backup and recovery.
- Perform Database performance tuning.
- Analyze performance tuning of database queries.
- Work closely with Application Programming Interface (API) developers

QualificationsIn order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is IT data management and demonstrates each of the following competencies: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. This must include activities such as: (1) defining, designing, developing and deploying custom database management systems to provide clients with end-to-end solutions to database problems;(2) demonstrating knowledge in Oracle, Postgress and Cloud Technologies;(3) communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with stakeholders and users throughout an organization; (4) developing and implementing data mining and data warehousing programs. This experience must be comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in private or public sectors).
In addition, you must provide a cover letter describing your experience with the competencies identified below:
Technical Competence-Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on the job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; and has experience working with Oracle, Postgress and Cloud Technologies.
Oral Communication-Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Data Management-Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and tools of data management, such as modeling techniques, data backup, data recovery, data dictionaries, data warehousing, data mining, data disposal, and data standardization processes.
