This position is located in the U.S. International Trade Commission, Office of Operations, Office of Analysis and Research Services, Statistical and Data Services Division. Statisticians provide statistical analysis and support to agency programs. They plan out and implement projects for collecting and analyzing detailed statistical data. They assist in the design and development of surveys, manage datasets incorporating primary and secondary source data, and provide in-depth, statistically and mathematically sound analyses of data and data outputs. Statisticians are responsible for the development and maintenance of statistical applications and platforms. Statisticians need to apply expertise in defining and quantifying analytical problems and suggest possible approaches to their resolution.
Statisticians also plan, prepare, and present quantitative and qualitative formal analyses of data. They develop data tables, graphics, and charts illustrating the results of analyses. They prepare, present, and defend findings in oral and written presentations to senior staff and project team members. Additionally, Statisticians are responsible for checking reports, data tables, and associated statistical analyses for accuracy.
