    This position is located in the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, Office of Administrative Services, Office of Security and Safety. The selectee will serve as a Security Assistant supporting the government in administering pre-entry on duty security screening procedures for USPTO employees and contractor personnel.  As a Security Assistant, you will be responsible for:

    • Performing duties and responsibilities pertaining to Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) for the USPTO.
    • Processing new employee or contractor background investigations/re-investigations.
    • Reviewing required forms, processes, and screening security forms.
    • Assisting employees in preparation of personnel security questionnaires.
    • Delivering administrative support related to personnel security. Establishing spreadsheets, databases, or reports on case history, provides data entry, database maintenance, and administration services.
    • Assisting with personnel security orientation briefings.
    • Assisting with security clearance requests.
    • Assisting with entering information into the USPTO tracking database.
