    A successful candidate in this position will:

    • Be part of the world's largest cleanup program.
    • Provide exemplary technical capability to the Environmental Management cleanup program, including applying expertise in an industrial environment where decontamination of facilities, environmental cleanup, shielding, radioactive materials management, and dosimetry services occurs.

    Responsibilities

    As an Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Physical Scientist at the full performance level, you will:

    • Represent and support the Federal Project Director in exercising responsibilities and authorities assigned to the organization with regard to Radiological Protection activities related to high priority DOE initiatives and ensures that are accomplished in a timely and technically sound manner. 
    • Provide oversight of contractor operations regarding 10 C.F.R. Part 835, Occupational Radiation Protection, and DOE O 458.1, Radiation Protection of the Public and the Environment and Contractor Implementation Plans for EM projects and facilities.
    • Perform or direct audits, inspections, and continual surveillance of contractor radiological programs, equipment maintenance and calibration activities, and statistical application programs to assure continued conformance to approved Radiological Protection program requirements. 
    • Perform or direct analyses of inspection reports, audit reports, and contractor corrective actions.
