    Summary

    This position is located in Region 6.

    This position serves as a Forester and will be responsible for the development and/or review of silvicultural plans and programs including compartment prescription, reforestation, timber stand and tree improvement, and planning for vegetation projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as the Forest budget coordinator for the silviculture program.
    • Works closely with contractors and the Contracting Officer to accomplish the operational goals of the silviculture program.
    • Leads, oversees, and/or conducts National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in order to facilitate implementation of specific projects.
    • Provides technical review and oversight of land management plan issues related to silviculture for purposes of amendments
    • Provides prescriptions and prescription certification and oversight for vegetation treatment projects, including stand thinning, timber harvest, and prescribed application of fire.
    • Duties listed are at the full performance level

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be required for field work, site visits, trainings and/or meetings
