    Responsibilities

    • Serves as Chief of the Inspection Section with the responsibility for overall supervision of the inspection which involves all completed, including levees, channels, floodwalls, pump stations, closure structures and a few dams.
    • Provides management and technical expertise, experienced judgment and guidance to counterparts within the District, other governmental agencies, private interests and Architect-Engineer (A-E) firms.
    • Assigns duties and responsibilities to subordinate positions, and structures these positions to form an organization that provides for effective and economical accomplishment of work.
    • Responsible for insuring the District is in compliance with Regulations in regards to all flood damage reduction projects and levee systems within the District.
    • Serves as technical expert advisor on the adequacy and accuracy of O and M Manuals (Operation, Maintenance, Repair, Replacement and Rehabilitation Manuals) for Corps operated and sponsor-operated projects.
    • Functions as the Technical Lead for Civil Works projects with the responsibility of managing the project scope, budget, and schedule to insure technical quality of Engineering and Construction deliverables.
    • Functions as a Technical Lead for Emergency Flood Response with responsibility for coordinating and reporting on emergency conditions to levee projects; develops and periodically updates emergency and mobilization plans for the assigned organization.

    25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position. Business travel is up to 25% of the time.
