As a Nondestructive Tester, WG-3705-5/8/10, you will inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.
Military Grades: Enlisted only
Compatible Military Assignments: 2A7X2
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
WG-5: Must have 6 months experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use common hand tools and make repetitive repairs. Must have basic knowledge of the type of work performed by the occupational series. Provide assistance to the journeyman by performing the simpler and routine duties of the trade.
WG-8: Must have 12 months experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques; and test apparatus to apply tests to materials or products, observing and recoding established reactions and interpreting results. Experience evaluating test results of engine oil and other fluid samples for spectrometric oil analysis; and performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment.
WG-10: Must have 18 months experience training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures.
