    Salary: $51,440 (Step 01) to $66,868(Step 10); NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

    As a Health Physicist within the Columbia Environmental Research Center (CERC), some of your specific duties will include:

    - Assures chemical inventory is in compliance with Federal, State, and USGS regulations.

    - Manages, conducts, and evaluates occupational chemical exposure assessments.

    - Manages, improves, and performs the duties associated with hazardous waste and according to Federal and State regulations.

    - Performs the transfer of waste solvents into collection drums and arranges shipping/hauling.

    - Reviews study plans and provides guidance based on the characteristics of the radiation, protection principles, dose and quantities, and potential biological hazards.

    - Prepares materials for, organizes and participates in CERC safety committee.

    - Operates a government motor vehicle as an incidental driver.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Occasional travel away from home may be required 1-5 nights per month.
