    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Training Specialist. Typical assignments include:

    • Reviewing and evaluating national curricula and troubleshooting problems and issues pertinent to FEMA’s education and training program.
    • Providing leadership, advice and guidance throughout FEMA and serving as one of the key staff in the agency training program.
    • Planning, organizing, and carrying out studies, the results of which have a broad impact on a large number of education and training staff and students, a service-wide technical training program, and in FEMA’s education and training programs.
    • Troubleshooting problems and issues pertinent to the agency’s education and training program.
    • Developing advanced plans to ensure timely introduction of new or revised procedures, techniques, or operational concepts into the training program.
