    Responsibilities

    The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is the principal advisor to the Under Secretary and Director on the application of information technology (IT) to support and improve the Agency’s business processes. The Office of Program Administration Organization (OPAO) is responsible for the management of the overall USPTO Information Technology program, providing service & support for OCIO customers. The Process & Tools Branch (PTB) serves as a Program Management Office (PMO) for establishing, implementing, facilitating, and administering processes and tools related to management of USPTO IT Portfolios, Programs, and Projects as defined in the USPTO Framework. 

    As an IT Specialist (Policy and Planning), you will perform the following duties:

    • Provides technical and advisory services associated with the application and development of IT Portfolio, Program, and Project Management.

    • Assists Portfolio Managers, Program Managers, Project Managers and Scrum Masters.

    • Provides technical and advisory services associated with the development, application, and interpretation of metrics related to SDLC processes.

    • Supports portfolio teams in planning, assessing, and implementing of the agency Capital Planning and Investment Control process.

    • Develops communicates, and monitors the process to document and manage iterative versions of the OMB Exhibits.
