    This is a Recent Graduates position in the Pathways Program. This program provides an entry-level developmental experience with the potential to lead to a career in the Federal Government after successfully completing two years under the program. Upon successful completion of the developmental program, Recent Graduate appointees may be non-competitively converted to a permanent position without further competition.

    Performs basic (but progressively more difficult) assignments under the close direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Typically acts as a member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility. Monitors and tracks programmatic and management actions and reports for completeness and responsiveness to guidance, to ensure that commitments and milestones are met, and delinquencies are ·brought to the attention of the manager.

    Analyzes reports to ensure distribution, consolidation of comments and required follow-up action. Assures external and internally generated actions are assigned and properly logged. Provides coordination and action follow-up among management.

    Assists in the interpretation and implementation of policies, procedures, and requirements governing one or more of the following programs: program planning; cost control and budget formulation/execution; delegation of authority; staffing utilization; etc. Researches, reviews and analyzes management and program directives and instructions from higher-level offices concerning project management systems (planning, execution, evaluation and analysis, and reporting requirements) for consistency, reporting requirements, and background information.

    Compiles crosschecks and consolidates tables, exhibits, schedules and other management/program data in preparation of internal and external reports. Utilizes automated database tracking systems. Assists supervisor with analysis of trends inherent in reports accessed.

    Attends periodic meetings and programs reviews, documents findings, and provides limited support to these proceedings by gathering specific data, some of which is not readily available and which must be developed or solicited from other offices. Maintains contacts with immediate office staff and with other organizational components as necessary to complete developmental assignments.

    Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit with a manager and other employees to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and to discuss the status of assignments. In some specialties, may have contact with customers and other external parties on routine matters such as gathering information, explaining regulations, and discussing the customer's situation.

    Established policies/procedures provide detailed guidance for almost all assignments, with little or no room for discretion. Works under detailed instructions provided by a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional.

    Regularly refers problems and work issues to a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional for guidance. Work is reviewed regularly during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and all aspects of quality. Work activities typically support the work of other employees and contribute to activities of the organizational level. In some specialties, the work may affect internal and external customers. Performs other duties as assigned.
