The detailed Human Resources Benefits Specialist will be expected to:
- Determine coverage on entitlements for employees under FEHB, FEGLI, FSAFEDS and FLTCIP.
- Independently counsel employees on rights and options for all federal benefit programs
- Research, interpret, and apply federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing federal benefits and entitlement
programs to resolve complex issues;
- Provide advisory services to senior management officials, supervisors, and employees regarding eligibility requirements and options
for federal benefits such as: health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, long term care insurance, dental insurance, vision
insurance, retirement and savings plans;
- Utilize various automated databases/systems to input benefit and payroll elections and ensuring entries flow accurately;
- Prepare annuity estimates and associated information in order for employees to make informed retirement decisions;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation claims and advising employees regarding on-the-job injuries and work related illnesses;
- Provide guidance to employees regarding service credit payments;
- Coordinate and schedule a wide variety of benefits training seminars, programs, and special events.

Resume which must include the following information: beginning and ending dates (mo/yr) for paid or non-paid work experience; and average number of hours worked per week.
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications. Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
