    • Identify and evaluate chemical, physical, and structural properties of cereal starches and determine how these properties affect end-use quality and functional attributes of cereal grains.
    • Utilize a variety of techniques and methods to understand complex relationships of factors that govern sorghum and wheat starch content.
    • Develop, improve and evaluate instrumental methods that can be used to objectively and rapidly characterize starch content and composition.
    • As an independent researcher, select research problems, and areas, conduct experiments, and publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
    • Present results of research to user groups, scientific audiences, and professional associations.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - To conferences and meetings.
