EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
In this position, you will support the Supply Chain Integration Branch Chief, and Division in providing acquisition and logistics supports to authorized activities for initial response resource commodities and for developing and implementing innovative supply support solutions. Typical assignments include:
- Developing strategies to move the Division forward through program recommendations that seek to integrate future technology and concepts with holistic efforts to operate and obtain total logistics projections.
- Serving as the primary supply planner and as the focal point for the execution of distribution planning as it relates to developing concepts of resource support during steady state (day-to-day) operations for 10 FEMA regions across the continental United States.
Facilitating and/or orchestrating resource support efforts in the Distribution Management Strategy Working Group to effectively plan, manage, and sustain the national logistics response and recovery operations in support of domestic emergencies and special events with the Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, other Federal agencies, State, Territories, Tribal, and Local governments.
