- Conducts subject-area research to assure that all workshops present accurate and culturally sensitive content.
- Designs, develops and implements educational workshop programs including adult workshops, student workshops, after school programs, intergenerational workshops, distance learning programs, classroom and gallery activities and teacher training.
- Coordinates all internal administrative requirements related to programs.
- Coordinates external administrative matters including initial contracting, obtaining rights and permissions, arranging invitational travel, local lodging, ordering supplies and materials for workshops.

You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting with the planning, development, coordination and implementation of educational workshops and helping to do research to make sure the workshops are culturally accurate.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Superior academic achievement
Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university meets the requirements for positions at GS-7 through GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.
Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
Superior Academic Achievement Provisions:
A Bachelor’s degree in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, plus at least one of the following superior academic achievement provisions:
1. A grade-point average (GPA) of B (3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale) for all completed undergraduate courses, or courses completed in the last two years of undergraduate curriculum; or
2. A grade-point average (GPA) of B+ (3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale) for the required courses in your major field of study, or required courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study; or
3. Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study; or
4. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society, other than freshman honor societies. Honor societies that have been approved are listed in the American College of Honor Societies. Booklet of Information (1992-95) and/or Baird’s Manual of American College Fraternities (1991).

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

- Knowledge of tribal customs and culture in order to appropriately present the historical and contemporary culture and community of Native Americans of the Western Hemisphere.

- Ability to plan budgets and negotiate schedules that coordinate with other museum and collaborative programs.
- Ability to write and edit materials containing complex technical ideas for a variety of audiences.
