    This position is located in the Office of Protection Services (OPS), Washington, D.C.  The employee of this position manages the physical security program in the areas of security program planning, policy and program development; organizational performance measurement and program evaluation; quality management; and reports, briefings.

    • Develops, organizes, and/or directs all activities concerned with security and disaster management planning programs.
    • Provides advice and assistance to all levels of management on technical, planning, and project personnel engaged in a range of activities pertaining to security and disaster management aspects of SI buildings to include leased facilities.
    • Develops plans for the protection of all exhibits and storage of the museum’s collection and specimens against all hazards and threats.
    • Serves as the museum/complex focal point and in-house consultant with responsibility for round-the-clock protection from all hazard threats to include vandalism, terrorism, as well as other crimes and provides technical assistance in establishing and maintaining efficient security operations responsive.
