    This position is located in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Idaho Operations Office (DOE‑ID), Office of Operations Support, Environment and Sustainability Division (ESD) and serves as the Division Director for ESD. The Director manages and leads a Division of multi-disciplined professionals in the areas of operational environmental compliance, environmental protection, environmental impact analysis under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and sustainability.

    As the ESD Director, you will:

    • Manage a federal workforce of technical professionals in the areas of environmental compliance, environmental protection, and sustainability.
    • Plan, organize, and direct Division activities.
    • Make recommendations to management regarding environment and sustainability missions and projects.
    • Ensure allocation and utilization of resources are based on sound programmatic needs consistent with mission accomplishment within statutory, regulatory, and budgetary constraints.
    • Develop, improve and lead oversight of related contractor programs.
    • Interface with contractor management to communicate results of ESD oversight.
    • Manage implementation of appropriate DOE and federal environmental policy and requirements.
    • Monitor changes to environmental requirements and coordinate contract modifications as necessary through the appropriate Contracting Officer Representatives and Contracting Officers.
    • Provide appropriate input to DOE on contract performance and recommend performance measures and incentives as appropriate.
    • Oversee various contracts for environmental services and Inter-agency Agreements.
