    The Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Health Care System, in conjunction with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, is seeking full-time staff physicians to be Hematology/Medical Oncology Specialists in Medicine Service. The Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Health Care System is a tertiary care facility serving Oklahoma and part of northern Texas and an integral part of the educational and research mission of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

    The Hematology and Medical Oncology Physician will participate in providing inpatient and outpatient care of the highest quality to patients with Hematologic/Oncologic diseases, teaching, and research in the field of Hematology/Oncology. The applicant will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance and management of hematologic/oncologic diseases. He/She must be proficient in bone marrow biopsy and aspiration. He/She will participate in the education and supervision of trainees. Experience in basic science research is required, and evidence of plans to establish an independent research program is also required. A successful candidate must qualify for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

    Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility requirements, and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.

    Note: Education and length of practice will be considered through a formal pay-setting process in determining the final compensable salary(Base Pay + Market Pay).
