This position is located in the Office of Office of Funds Administration, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), in Washington, D.C. You will be responsible for travel management and travel card program for the agency, including FRA's travel policy in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), and contribute to the development of policy changes/updates, and their implementation.Learn more about this agency
As a Financial Specialist (Travel Program), you will:
- Serve as system administrator and point of contact for the travel system used by FRA. Control and coordinate actions to support the successful deployment and use of the system throughout FRA.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of FRA’s Government Credit Card Services Program. Field inquiries from employees on the rules and regulations pertaining to the Credit Card Program and provides responses.
- Develop and present travel-related instructions and guidance for use by employees, which may include the development of structured training, writing policy, and procedural guidance on travel and relocation regulations for the FRA.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level professional that possesses a high degree of energy, passion for the job, ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers, and is willing to do what is necessary to achieve organization goals. Has experience in the Federal Travel Management and travel card program with substantial knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR). Has excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in the use of the Federal Travel System (s) and software applications (i.e., word, Excel and PowerPoint) to generate reports, update policy and provide a presentations to FRA employees including senior management.
