Van Zandt VA Medical Center to include Career/Career Conditional or Excepted Service (i.e. Canteen, Hybrid, Title 38, etc. and meets interchange agreement requirements). This does not include temporary, term or temporary intermittent.
The Resuscitation LPN Program Specialist is directly responsible to the Chief of Education. The incumbent is functionally responsible for the administration and managing the Department of Veterans Healthcare Administration's Resuscitation Education Initiative (REdI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Program in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) and REdI guidelines within the James E. Van Zandt VAMC. The incumbent monitors and assigns all employees with core AHA content and assists with training BLS and First Aid programs. Ensures the appropriate records and reports are maintained on site and forwarded to REdI by the suspense dates. Maintains adequate training resources and is responsible and accountable for AHA/REdI course completion cards and test materials. Reviews the files of all newly assigned Training Center Faculty (TCF); provides orientation; coordinates for the monitoring of newly assigned BLS TCFs at first teaching occurrence; addresses any discrepancies or concerns with the National REdI Program Director. Reviews and signs all BLS post course reports. The incumbent serves as a practitioner whose practice encompasses a wide range of responsibility and accountability in education. The incumbent demonstrates leadership in planning, implementing, and improving holistic care delivery using collaborative strategies with others while ensuring compliance with the VA mission, vision and values. Practice is based on conscious and deliberate planning utilizing critical thinking skills. The position may entail other duties as assigned and require travel between the medical center and community base outpatient clinics (CBOC's).
