    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating major administrative aspects of substantive, mission-oriented programs. Typical duties may include:

    • Developing long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones, or to evaluating the effectiveness of programs
    • Preparing and securing program review authorities' approval for program plans, schedules, and resource requirements to adequately support the desired level of operations for assigned programs and to meet all established technical and management objectives that are mandated
    • Participating in briefings to provide information concerning planning, scheduling, and financial aspects of program plans (e.g., provides information on budget strategy, explains how cost analyses were conducted and analytical findings obtained)
    • Providing senior leadership with program evaluation results that are utilized in the resource management process for greater program effectiveness
    • Maintaining continuing liaison with staff and involved program review authorities to keep informed of changes and decisions relevant to assigned projects
    • Providing documentation that form the basis for decision making by senior officials concerning long-term major programs which involve the participation of an extensive community of complex, Agency's mission agency components
