    1 vacancy in the following location: to be determined within the Eastern Region

    This position is located in the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), Livestock & Poultry Program (LP), Quality Assessment Division (QAD), Grading Services Branch. The QAD is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering programs for the grading, certification, and/or inspection of livestock, meat and meat products, shell eggs, poultry, and rabbit products, hereafter referred to as QAD commodities.

    Responsibilities

    • The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
    • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • The Regional Director collaborates with the Branch Chief, National Technical Supervisors, and supervisory staff to formulate and implement procedures, and training programs within their region.
    • Responsible for the execution and coordination of approved policies and programs to effectuate uniform and integrated programs throughout the incumbent?s region.
    • Work closely with Business Operations Branch and supervisory staff to recruit technically qualified personnel to work within their region.

    • Monitors funds obligated, expended, and collected in the execution of the program in the region and maintains financial records and reports in accordance with established procedures.
