    This position is in the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD), Office of Block Grant Assistance. CPD seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. The primary means toward this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations.

    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    • Provides technical assistance to grantees and HUD field staff in support of the CDBG or related programs/functions to include NSP, Disaster Recovery, Section 108 loan guarantee and/or financial management.
    • Provides technical advice and guidance for the interpretation of policies, regulations and regulatory requirements for the CDBG or related programs. Communicates directly with field staff, grantees, community organizations and the general public.
    • Drafts policy guidance to include regulations, CPD Notices, operating instructions, procedures, etc.
    • Oversees and manages an assigned grant, loan, and/or field office portfolio and participates in the monitoring of grantees.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - 01 to 05 Nights per Month.
