    The purpose of this position is to write and present in-depth analysis of global financial and economic issues for senior policymakers. The position involves analysis of a wide range of financial asset classes and international economic developments.

    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    -Analyzes and identifies the drivers of macroeconomic and financial market trends. Undertakes highly complex theoretical and empirical research into questions of Treasury finance and economic management policy as it relates to global issues.

    -Interacts with other offices within Treasury, and other Departments, to ensure that government officials are well-briefed on the latest global financial market trends.

    -Delivers oral briefings to senior Treasury officials on a regular basis regarding a variety of financial asset classes and macroeconomic trends.
