    Serve as a senior/lead inspector by conducting evaluations and inspections of biological high containment laboratories that contain infectious biological agents.

    Responsibilities


    As a Microbiologist (Inspector), you will:

    • Responsible for conducting on-site inspections that include Biosafety Level (BSL) 2, 3, and/or 4, and Animal Biosafety Level (ABSL) 2, 3, and/or 4, at various locations in the United States.
    • Responsible for high proficiency in standard and special microbiological practices and techniques to enforce the regulations of the importation of infectious biological agents, infectious substances, and vectors of human disease to protect the public health in the United States.
    • Prepare written compliance reports of inspection findings based upon regulatory requirements by using nationally recognized safety standards as reference.
    • Perform on-site inspections to ensure compliance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 42 CFR 71.54 and that safety standards detailed in the Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL 5th Edition) are met.

    Travel Required

    50% or less - You may be expected to travel 25 - 40% Domestically for this position.
