    This position is located in the United States Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration (ETA), Office of Management and Administrative Services (OMAS), Office of Controlled Correspondence, Communication & Coordination (OCCC).

    OCCCC ensures that policies, procedures, and responses to controlled executive correspondence and other prepared documents to reflect the priorities of the Administration to meet the laws and mandates promulgated by Congress.

    GS-12: The incumbent performs but is not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Responsible for general correspondence review. Receives, screens, analyzes, assigns, and tracks controlled executive correspondence from the public, academia, Congress, the White House, States, foreign heads of state and their representatives, and other governmental agencies. The incumbent reviews correspondence submitted to and received from the Office of the Assistant Secretary, and ensures compliance with ETA's policy guidance.
    • The incumbent applies comprehensive knowledge of ETA's organizational structure, missions, and functions to recommend methods, processes, systems, controls, and procedures for clearance in-take and tracking; Works closely with the Office's other senior-level Correspondence Analyst to ensure that policies and procedures on both in-take and clearance controlling sides of the Correspondence division are working in unison to support ETA in meeting its goals and mission.
    • Serves as the point of contact for appropriate agency correspondence staff on clearance training, submissions, and procedures. Responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and contacting agencies on overdue clearance requests. Maintains all clearance pending files and reviews and tracks open pending files for accuracy and complete processing and filing. Monitors quality control of clearance activities, including work load, productivity, efficiency and accuracy, and serves as a liaison between controllers and Supervisor of Correspondence and Office management, when needed. 
    • Instructs appropriate Office staff, agency personnel, etc., on the clearance procedures and requirements for using and maintaining the Secretary's Information Management System (SIMS), and SIMS replacements.
