    You will serve as a HEALTH PHYSICIST in the Assistant Director Combat Support Directorate (J-3) of the DEFENSE HEALTH AGENCY.

    • You will implement policies, guidelines, and objectives for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Master Material License (MML).
    • You will review, advise and provide comprehensive technical and administrative health physics expertise on a full range of radiation safety matters related to the use and testing of radioactive materials and non-ionizing sources.
    • You will ensure radiation protection procedures, instrumentation, facilities, equipment, training, and experience are sufficient to provide reasonable assurance that operations are conducted safely and within established regulations and guidelines.
    • You will respond to and investigate reported radiological problems, incidents, or unusual circumstances involving facilities and materials.
    • You will assess the significance, impact, and root cause of reported radiological problems/incidences and recommend corrective and preventative actions to protect the health and safety of staff, patients, and the general public.
    • You will resolve conflicts concerning proper procedures and regulatory requirements, storage and transportation of radioactive material, and interpretation of regulatory requirements.
    • You will serve as a permit writer and inspector.
