    The incumbent provides leadership and support to field office members (NRCS and non-NRCS) in their designated areas relative to NRCS easement programs office. Incumbent is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities related to conservation easements funded by the Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP), Emergency Watershed Protection Floodplain Easement (EWP-FPE), Grassland Reserve Program (GRP), Emergency Wetlands Reserve Program (EWRP) and the Farmland and Ranchland Protection Program (FRPP).

    • Coordinates with Easement Programs Team to ensure that easement development is completed within established time frames and policy and that restoration contracts and agreements are developed and implemented within established policy and guidelines.
    • Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of management plans for individual easements and/or clusters of easements.
    • Coordinates specialized technical assistance provided by other area staff members as needed to complete easement program/wetland restoration activities.
    • Provides administrative guidance and training to district conservationists on WRP, EWP-FPE, GRP, EWRP and FRPP programs. The incumbent will develop contracts, modifications and payment requests.
    • Tracks changes in land ownership to continuously remind these private and public landowners that NRCS easements are in place and that NRCS maintains an active interest in how easement areas are used and managed.

    Occasional travel - 25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.
