    Responsibilities

    At the entry level of this position, you will:

    -Examine scientific data to evaluate chemical risks, and use exposure analysis to determine the need for occupational controls.

    -Interpret and apply legislation, regulations, and scientific developments to assess new and existing chemicals.

    -Assist in assessing workplace exposure, industrial hygiene practices, and control alternatives for chemicals used in the industrial sectors.  

    -Performing research to assist in responses to procedural, regulatory and technical issues for new chemicals, nanomaterials, micro-organisms and existing chemicals.

    You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.

    When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.
