    Summary

    Recruitment / Relocation Incentive up to $50K to be paid out in two installments. $25K to be paid the first year and $25K on one year anniversary. Applicant will be required to sign a 3 year service agreement for this incentive.

    Responsibilities


    The Hematology/Oncology Chief Physician (Section Chief) reports directly to the Chief of the Medicine Service. The section chief has a combination of administrative, clinical, research and educational roles. Administratively, the section chief is the primary supervisor of the Hematology/Oncology Section. The section chief along with other Hematology/Oncology physicians specialize in benign and malignant disorders of the hematologic system, and malignant solid tumors. The section chief provides day to day management and oversight of the clinical operations within the section; yearly performance evaluations; biannual ongoing professional practice evaluations, and clinical documentation. In collaboration with program directors and associate program directors of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix, ensures Fellowship Program, Internal Medicine Residency, and Medical Student Programs are adequately supervised and receive optimal medical education.
    The section chief is also responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
    - Perform consultative histories and physical examinations, makes assessments, uses appropriate diagnostic evaluation, and implements timely therapy.
    - Coverage of outpatient clinics; supervision of diagnosis and therapy for inpatients
    - Supervision of outpatient chemotherapy and other infusion procedures
    Participate, oversee, and collaborates to ensure that all applicable clinical functions including outpatient and inpatient consultative medical care are performed.
    Must qualify for academic appointment to the affiliate university.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
