    This position is located in the Office of Human Subjects Research Protections (OHSRP), Office of Intramural Research (OIR), Office of the Director (OD).The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and skills to successfully provide scientific analyses to IRB senior staff and investigators.     Responsibilities

    As an IRB Scientific Analyst, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

    • Independently provide expertise and scientific, analytical, and program support to NIH Intramural IRB.
    • Review Intramural Research Program (IRB) protocol actions (new requests, responses to stipulations, amendments, continuing reviews, closures, etc.) from a scientific, administrative and technical viewpoint prior to submission to the IRB for compliance with regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements and for completeness, appropriateness, and adequacy of information (e.g., ensuring sufficient detail for review, ensuring required elements have been addressed).
    • Coordinating IRB meetings and agendas including scheduling presentations by consultants and principal investigators and monitoring maintenance or quorum.
    • Developing guidance materials, manuals, templates, job aids and other written and electronic resources on IRB processes and functions.
    • Serving as an expert advisor to the Board Team Lead to evaluate current procedures and recommend and implement changes to improve operations.
