    This position is located on the Disaster Recovery and Special Issues Division in the Office of Block Grant Assistance within CPD. The Office of Block Grant Assistance is responsible for administering the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, including grant programs for entitlement communities, states, small cities, and insular areas.

    As a Community Planning And Development Specialist, you will:

    - Provide advice and guidance concerning the interpretation of policies, rules, and regulatory provisions. This includes direct communication and correspondence with field staff, grantees, public interest groups, and others.

    - Monitor and evaluate recipients of CPD Programs and other grants. This process requires planning, scheduling, conducting on-site reviews, analyzing information, coordinating group activities and recommending subsequent actions.

    - Analyze information obtained and determine whether the grantee has complied with applicable laws and regulations. When the on-site review has been completed, the incumbent prepares the results of this analysis for presentation to grantee officials.

    Travel Required

    50% or less - 6-11 nights per month
