    Summary

    This position is located in Department of Labor (DOL), Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).  The mission of the Office of Field Operations is to provide collection expertise and provide feedback to the development of Bureau survey programs.

    The selectee will either be assigned to Seattle, WA or Portland, OR.

    Salary for Seattle, WA:  $45,823 - $59,572 per year.

    Salary for Portland, OR: $44,765 - $58,196 per year.

    This position is inside the bargaining unit.

    Responsibilities

    The employee will perform entry-level duties comprised of soliciting, collecting, and conducting routine analysis of complex data for major economic indicators such as the Consumer Price Index. The Consumer Price Index requires the application of conventional methods when collecting data and ensuring data quality checks. Applies standard practices and techniques to the solicitation of data and adheres to survey requirements. Follows-up with respondents providing data and timely survey results, prepares end-of-survey reports, and responds to queries.

    25% or less - Travel to field to collect data.
