    This position is located in Region 6 of the US Forest Service on the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest in Westfir, Oregon.

    This is a leadership position with responsibility for directing, managing and supervising the natural resource planning, implementation and monitoring programs.

    • Interact with other District & Forest officials and officials from other organizations in determining Forest programs of work and policy.
    • Develop and monitor the budget for the Natural Resources staff.
    • Ensure program expenditures are legal, meet charge-as-worked and congressional intent and remain within budget limits.
    • Lead and facilitate an integrated approach to District program of work development among the natural resources team specialists and among other resource areas such as, silviculture, botany, engineering, and recreation.
    • Set priorities for the type, amount and location of work to be accomplished under each program.
    • Develop or revise workforce organization to meet changing demands for program of work flexibility, budget constraints or opportunities, career paths and long term goals of the Agency.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - May require overnight travel 5 to 7 times per year to attend meetings, training and conferences.
