    The Specialty Clinic Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families in a nurse care area. He/she is accountable for adhering to established policies, standards of care and standards of practice. The Specialty Clinic Registered Nurse demonstrates leadership when providing and improving patient care in an outpatient setting. The incumbent reports directly to the Nurse Manager of the patient care unit/area.

    The incumbent demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care utilizing collaborative strategies with clients, family members and members of the interdisciplinary team. The Specialty Clinics provide service to patients with acute and/or chronic medical and surgical conditions (i.e. general surgery, urology, gynecology, orthopedics, etc.). The registered nurse successfully performs activities appropriate to their grade as outlined in the Nurse Qualification Standards. These standards identify the educational, experiential and competency requirements for the Registered Nurse at each grade. The registered nurse works autonomously to develop health promotion, performance improvement and evidence-based practice projects specific to the ambulatory specialties. The registered nurse will serve as the care manager for assigned sub-specialty.

    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
    Location: This position is located in the Primary Care Service Line at Rapid City, South Dakota.
