    The position leads the National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmarks Program, located in the Preservation Assistance Programs of the Cultural Resources, Partnerships, and Science Directorate of the National Park Service

    As the Supervisory Historian you will:

    • Oversee, direct, and administer operations, policy, direction, and planning, for the National Register of Historic Places and the National Historic Landmarks programs.
    • Ensure the adequacy of historical studies leading to National Historic Landmark designations, including the completion of appropriate peer reviews and theme and context studies.
    • Oversee budget formulation and management and provides accountability for outcomes of National Register/National Historic Landmark Programs.
    • Supervise subordinate supervisors, historians, and archival and administrative staff and indirectly supervises up to 15 professional and administrative staff through the subordinate supervisors.
    • Determine long-range staffing needs through position management analyses and prepare requests for review by the Deputy Associate Director and for consideration and approval by the Position Management Review Board.
