    The Office of Military Commissions Convening Authority (OMC-CA) has made it a priority to provide Non-Governmental Organization Observers (OBS) in-person access to view proceedings at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (GTMO). As a result, individuals attending as OBS are the primary responsibility of OMC-CA OBS escorts while on the island. OMC-CA OBS escorts are responsible for the travel, oversight and care of OBS invited by the Convening Authority to view Military Commission proceedings at GTMO.

    Your typical work assignments may include the following:

    • Serves as a Protocol Specialist responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and overseeing the proper execution of official and social functions and events on matters of protocol for GTMO OBS.
    • Works directly with OIC and Executive Officer regarding all aspects of protocol management initiatives.
    • Serves as staff action officer responsible for the development and implementation of the environmental program with specific areas of responsibility issuing guidance and taking necessary action to assure compliance with environmental laws, regulations and best management practices.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
