    Summary

    As a Petroleum Engineer, an individual will serve as an advisor to Commission staff and industry on problems or matters relating to oil and gas and petroleum exploration companies.

    Responsibilities

    • Review registration statements, annual reports and other documents filed by companies engaged in oil and gas producing activities for compliance with relevant reporting requirements, including those contained in the 1200 Series of Regulation S-K, Rule 4-10 of Regulation S-X, and pronouncements of the Financial Accounting Standards Board.
    • Provide interpretive assistance to companies and Commission staff with respect to SEC rules applicable to companies engaged in oil and gas producing activities.
    • Make recommendations to the Commission regarding new rules and revisions to existing rules and participate in rule writing.
    • Identify and advise Commission staff regarding industry trends and emerging risks.
