    The West Texas VA Health Care System (WTVAHCS) is currently accepting applications for a full-time permanent Grounds (Laborer) assigned to the Environmental Management Services at the George H. O'Brien Jr. VA Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas. Incumbent will perform manual labor tasks involving use of common hand tools and simple power equipment (power lawnmowers, edger's, weed eaters, etc.).

    The Incumbent is responsible for placing flags on Avenue of Flags on appropriate days, moving of furniture within Medical Center, maintenance of grounds of litter and trash, collection of recycled materials and operation of baler, and pruning and trimming of trees. Will perform basic grounds keeping duties such as mowing, weed eating etc. May be called during inclement weather (snow and/or ice), to clean parking lots and/or walkways. Must be able to show proof of valid drivers' license and proof of auto insurance. Other work as assigned.     Work Schedule: Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Seasonal tours maybe a requirement if a seasonal tour is implemented the schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
