    There is a need to fill 1 Office of Naval Research Global Science Advisor (SA) position. SAs typically serve a total of 3 years, and remain on the roles of their home activity. SAs serve on the staff of a major joint, Navy, or Marine Corps command; assist and advise the host Commander and staff in the identification of Warfighting Capability Gaps that have a critical impact on combat readiness; and, serve as the primary interface between the command and the RDT&E Community in finding & implementing solutions. As a Science Advisor, you must have a specific understanding of the current DoN S&T planning and experimentation process to focus on transition of technology. Positions require TS/SCI clearance and the ability to go into the field. Selected candidate must complete a polygraph test with favorable determination. An unfavorable determination will result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. Typically, 20-40% of the Science Advisors time will be spent on travel.

    Top candidates have experience with senior-level briefings and negotiations concerning prioritization of technological requirements. Current needs include:

    *Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command at Naval Special Warfare Development Group, Virginia Beach, Virginia.The SA will be concerned with programs relating to all aspects of Naval Special Warfare (NSW.) The SA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the Naval Special Warfare Command (WARCOM) and Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU)'s S&T needs and representing those needs to the DoN S&T community. This position requires professional experience in R&D work related to Navy concept-based development and experimentation processes, acquisition systems, and operational testing.
