    The registered nurse assigned to the Medical Surgical Unit, is a professional nurse with a broad-based clinical knowledge that enables him/her to effectively provide care to a veteran population with widely diverse medical and surgical diagnoses.

    • Accountable for all elements of the nursing process
    • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components
    • Responsible for coordination of care focused on the veteran's transition through the continuum of care
    • Responsible for veteran and family education
    • Responsible for veteran self-management after discharge
    • Responsible for supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction
    • Considers all characteristics of the individual including age, life stage, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences to provide optimum veteran centered care.
    • Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines
    • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to positively influence veteran care outcomes
    • Care for Remote Telemetry patients
    • Other duties as assigned

    Work Schedule:
    One Opening for Full Time Over night 12 hour - Six 12 hour shifts and one eight hour
    One Opening for Full Time Days 12 hour - Six 12 hour shifts and one eight hour
