    As the Training Specialist in Learning Resource Service, incumbent works under the direction of the Chief of Learning Resources and reports to the Health Systems Specialist, Learning Resources. The incumbent provides a wide variety of analytical, management support and administrative duties to facilitate the success of the workforce and educational mission of the Indianapolis VAMC to include the responsibility for health professions trainees.

    Functions as a training and education liaison as well as facilitator to provide support to services and top management related to employee training and education.

    May perform or assist in special studies, surveys, projects long and short term planning related to training and education programs and aids in the prioritization of resources for education/training.

    Assists with the coordination of educational affiliations and memorandum of understanding (MOU) or various clinical and administrative training programs with various education entities.

    Coordinate a variety of activities concerned with enhancing and promoting leadership development and career advancement of VAMC staff.

    Assists in delivery of programs, seminars, workshops, classes; the incumbent must establish a rapport with peers and others within and outside the Medical Center and community.

    Establishes learning environments in which educational multi-media can be implemented and evaluated in relation to quality, cost and outcomes.

    Develops, updates, and revises TMS modules on a regular basis using subject matter expert's materials as required and reviews these on an ongoing basis.

    Responsible for the PMDB/CE program.
