    This position is located in the Branch of Communications and Partnerships (BCP) within the Fish and Aquatic Conservation (FAC) Program. The incumbent formulates communications plans and strategies; develops and maintains relationships with partners, other agencies, and FWS programs; and supports development and dissemination of internal and external communications products of FWS' Fish and Aquatic Conservation Program outreach and education initiatives.

    • Develops outreach strategies to address and communicate the need to maintain and improve fisheries conservation and recreational fishing policies and practices.
    • Develops, writes, updates, and edits products for print, online, and digital platforms, including: reports, newsletters, brochures, video clips, as well as contributes to design and content development for web sites.
    • Coordinates special events, including briefings, ceremonies, receptions, photo opportunities, and public meetings. Responsibilities include overseeing physical and logistical arrangements, preparing materials, and conducting outreach efforts.
    • Manages or implements the design and creation of display graphics to reinforce fisheries conservation and recreational fishing messages to FWS and partners.
    • Establishes and builds partnerships with the fisheries conservation community to: inform them of, and gain their support for agency fisheries conservation concerns as outlined in the FAC Strategic Plan.
