    Responsibilities

    • Serves as recognized authority on the OT mechanism and advices NIH staff on when it is appropriate to use a grant, contract, cooperative agreement, or an OT.
    • Uses the OT mechanism to solve programmatic issues that can not be resolved through traditional mechanism.
    • Develops new approaches and specialized provisions for use in the development, planning, and implementation of OTs that are supported or implemented by the NIH Common Fund.
    • Collaborates with senior program staff to design and implement strategies to manage goal-driven programs that satisfy the needs of various stakeholders while fostering innovation in research.
    • Obtains/maintains appropriate level of OT Agreement certification by the NIH delegating authority. (Office of Extramural Research).
    • Negotiates award terms, intellectual property, financial arrangements, etc., and serves as the NIH authority with senior institutional business officials at academic, non-profit, and for-profit organizations.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
