EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
The ideal candidate for this position possess an in-depth knowledge of audiovisual (AV), video teleconferencing (VTC), audio, audio DSP, video, Crestron control, and IP networking and protocols. This candidate will need to operate, maintain and troubleshoot complex audiovisual presentation and multi-display system using AV and VTC presentation systems, webinar and web-streaming technologies.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing customer operational training on AV systems and hardware, coordinating with vendors and manufacturers on technical issues, and repairs, on-site maintenance and repair visits and coordination of RMA repair of hardware and coordination with property custodian. Typical assignments include:
- Provide daily AV/VTC operational and technical support for senior level and all hands meetings, as well as supporting 120 exiting conference and meeting spaces at HQ.
- Provides AV/VTC operational support for National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) activations working 12 hour shifts.
- Provides technical support levels 1 and 2 for NRCC and other meeting spaces. Additional duties include providing customer operational training on AV systems and hardware, coordinating with vendors and manufacturers on technical issues, and repairs, on-site maintenance and repair visits and coordination of RMA repair of hardware and coordination with property custodian.
Promotion Potential: Positions filled under Stafford Act regulations generally do not have documented promotion potential; however, dependent on an employee’s ability to perform higher level duties, the continuing need for an employee to perform work associated with a higher level position, and administrative recommendation and approval, promotions may be earned by CORE employees.
Occasional travel - Occasional non-emergency travel may be required.
