    The Office of Global Analysis (OGA) is responsible for initiating and conducting comprehensive reviews and analyses of the short term world agricultural situation. This requires that the agricultural economists compile, review, analyze and evaluate economic information and data regarding production, trade, consumption, prices, and other factors affecting the world agricultural situation.

    • The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
    • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • Plans and directs economic data analysis. Coordinates and reviews OGA division analysis. Leads and coordinates FAS participation in USDA Outlook Forum. Serves on export program review committees
    • Interpretation and application of analytical findings. Analyzes the impact of legislation and policies on the activities of OGA and FAS.
    • Explores and locates new areas of research. Formulates and carry out research plans. Serves as liaison with USDA economic analysis agencies. Prepares OGA wide reports. Coordinate review of economic manuscripts
